Sara McWilliams, LCSW
Sara is a licensed clinical social worker in Oregon and Washington and uses she/they pronouns. Born and raised in Ohio, she obtained her bachelor’s of fine art degree in theater from Kent State University and her master’s degree in social work from Portland State University.
Sara has experience providing clinical services in outpatient and residential settings to individuals, couples, and groups. Prior to embarking on a career as a therapist, Sara was a teacher for many years working primarily in early childhood and with adolescents. She is a theater artist and educator, currently playing and working in drama therapy and Playback Theater.
Sara specializes in trauma, anxiety, and depression using evidence-based practices, including drama therapy, internal family systems, dialectical behavioral therapy, eye-movement-desensitization-and-reprocessing (EMDR), the flash technique, and narrative exposure therapy. They believe that therapy is a relational, collaborative process that honors your intersecting identities and the systems in which you exist. They are committed to working with you to explore and discover what is needed for you to live your best life. Sara welcomes working with everyone, especially LGBTQQIAA2P+.
